Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon red food coloring
1 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons pink or white heart sprinkles
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, then mix until smooth and evenly colored.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until a soft dough forms.
6. Fold in the white chocolate chips and sprinkles.
7. Scoop the dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
8. Press a few extra white chocolate chips on top of each dough ball if desired.
9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Do not overbake these cookies or they will lose their soft and chewy center.
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 20 to 30 minutes before baking.
Press extra white chocolate chips on top right before baking for a prettier bakery-style finish.
