Description

This One-Pot Creamy Honey Chicken & Sausage Pasta is a rich, savory, and slightly sweet comfort meal made with minimal cleanup. The combination of tender chicken, smoky sausage, and honey-infused creamy Parmesan sauce tossed with penne makes for a perfect weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized chunks

8 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon honey

3 cups chicken broth

12 oz penne pasta (uncooked)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Freshly ground black pepper, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until golden and cooked through.
  3. Remove chicken, then sear sausage slices in the same pot until browned.
  4. Return chicken to the pot. Drizzle in honey and stir to coat.
  5. Add chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the pot to deglaze.
  6. Stir in uncooked penne pasta. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 12-14 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Once pasta is tender, add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  8. Optional: add crushed red pepper flakes for spice. Garnish with black pepper and serve warm.
