This One-Pot Creamy Honey Chicken & Sausage Pasta is a rich, savory, and slightly sweet comfort meal made with minimal cleanup. The combination of tender chicken, smoky sausage, and honey-infused creamy Parmesan sauce tossed with penne makes for a perfect weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized chunks
8 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon honey
3 cups chicken broth
12 oz penne pasta (uncooked)
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Freshly ground black pepper, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until golden and cooked through.
- Remove chicken, then sear sausage slices in the same pot until browned.
- Return chicken to the pot. Drizzle in honey and stir to coat.
- Add chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the pot to deglaze.
- Stir in uncooked penne pasta. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 12-14 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once pasta is tender, add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Optional: add crushed red pepper flakes for spice. Garnish with black pepper and serve warm.
