Ingredients

Scale

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cups green cabbage, shredded

1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

3 green onions, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced

3 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp cornstarch

2 tbsp water

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp sesame seeds

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, water, garlic, and ginger.

2. Pat the shrimp dry and set them aside while you prepare the vegetables.

3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

4. Add the shrimp and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked through. Remove from the skillet.

5. Add the cabbage and red bell pepper to the skillet and stir fry for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.

6. Return the shrimp to the pan and pour in the sauce.

7. Toss everything together and cook for 1 to 2 more minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp and vegetables.

8. Finish with green onions, sesame seeds, and crushed red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

Do not overcook the shrimp or they can become rubbery.

Slice the cabbage thinly so it cooks quickly and evenly.

Have the sauce mixed before cooking because the stir fry comes together fast.
