Ingredients
1 large bunch curly kale
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Wash the kale thoroughly and dry it very well with a clean towel or salad spinner.
3. Remove the thick stems and tear the kale into bite-sized pieces.
4. Place the kale in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil and white vinegar.
5. Sprinkle in the salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
6. Gently massage the seasoning into the kale until all the leaves are lightly coated.
7. Spread the kale in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet without overcrowding.
8. Bake for 12 to 18 minutes, watching closely near the end, until the edges are crisp.
9. Let the kale chips cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Dry the kale extremely well or the chips will steam instead of crisp.
Keep the leaves in a single layer so they bake evenly and stay crunchy.
Check the kale early during baking because it can go from crisp to burnt quickly.
