3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk, 14 ounces
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
3/4 cup chopped almonds
1/4 cup extra chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until fully combined.
4. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, then mix just until a soft dough forms.
5. Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
6. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the dough.
7. In a separate bowl, stir together the sweetened condensed milk, shredded coconut, and chopped almonds.
8. Spoon the coconut mixture evenly over the chocolate chips and spread gently.
9. Sprinkle the extra chocolate chips over the top.
10. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center is set.
11. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
Use parchment paper for easy lifting and cleaner slicing.
Let the bars cool fully before cutting so the layers set properly.
For extra almond flavor, lightly toast the chopped almonds before mixing them into the topping.
