Description
Vintage Cherries in the Snow is a creamy, dreamy no-bake dessert layered with whipped cream cheese filling and juicy cherry pie topping. It’s light, sweet, and perfect for spring gatherings, holidays, or just when you’re craving something fruity and nostalgic.
Ingredients
1 cup heavy whipping cream
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups angel food cake or pound cake, cubed (optional)
1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
Instructions
1. Pour the heavy whipping cream into a chilled mixing bowl. Whip on high speed until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate until ready to use.
2. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until fluffy and fully combined.
3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to maintain a light, airy texture.
4. In a glass dish or trifle bowl, add a layer of cubed cake or crushed graham crackers (optional).
5. Spread the whipped cream mixture evenly over the base layer.
6. Spoon cherry pie filling over the top, spreading it to the edges.
7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy cold!
Notes
For best texture, make sure cream cheese is fully softened before mixing.
Use a chilled bowl for whipping cream to help it set faster.
This dessert tastes even better when chilled overnight.
