Crispy Air Fryer Tofu is a simple, healthy, and flavorful way to enjoy golden tofu without deep frying. Tossed in savory spices and cornstarch, these tofu cubes turn ultra-crispy in the air fryer—perfect for bowls, wraps, or dipping!
Ingredients
1 block extra-firm tofu
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional)
Instructions
1. Drain the tofu and press it for at least 20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
2. Cut the tofu into even, bite-sized cubes.
3. In a bowl, toss tofu cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
4. Add cornstarch and gently toss until evenly coated.
5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
6. Arrange tofu cubes in a single layer in the basket.
7. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.
8. Serve hot with dipping sauce or over bowls. Optionally, sprinkle with nutritional yeast.
Notes
Pressing the tofu is crucial—don’t skip it! It removes moisture so your tofu gets super crispy.
Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed for even crisping.
For extra umami, toss with nutritional yeast after air frying.
