Description

Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie is a Southern classic that blends rich, semi-sweet chocolate with toasted pecans in a gooey, brown sugar-corn syrup filling. Baked in a flaky crust and served chilled or at room temperature, this pie delivers a deeply satisfying bite with every slice.

1 pie crust

1 1/2 cups pecans

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup corn syrup

3 large eggs

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

1. Roll out the pie crust and fit into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges and refrigerate.

2. Toast pecans at 350°F (175°C) for 6–8 minutes until fragrant, then cool slightly.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.

4. Fold in toasted pecans and chocolate chips.

5. Pour filling into chilled pie crust and spread evenly.

6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50–60 minutes until the center is just set.

7. Cool completely on a wire rack, then chill for at least 1 hour before slicing.

8. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.


Notes

Toasting the pecans adds a deep, nutty flavor—don’t skip this step.

Chill the pie after baking to help it slice cleanly and hold together.

For extra depth, add a tablespoon of bourbon to the filling.
