Description

This Sweet and Spicy Garlic Steak Pasta brings together perfectly seared steak, a savory garlic soy sauce with a kiss of brown sugar heat, and tender pasta coated in flavor. It’s a quick, crave-worthy dish that’s elegant enough for date night and simple enough for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

8 ounces linguine or spaghetti

4 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or green onions

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season sliced steak with salt and pepper, then sear in batches until browned, 2–3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

2. Boil a pot of salted water. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup pasta water and drain.

3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic. Cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened.

5. Toss in the drained pasta. If needed, use reserved pasta water to loosen sauce.

6. Return steak to skillet and mix until evenly coated and warmed through.

7. Garnish with parsley or green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra tender steak, slice thinly against the grain after searing.

Reserve and use pasta water gradually to control the sauce consistency.

Adjust red pepper flakes to suit your spice preference or omit entirely.
