Ingredients

Scale

1/2 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

1/4 cup grated onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon allspice

8 ounces egg noodles

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon oil for browning meatballs

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, pork, breadcrumbs, egg, grated onion, garlic, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

2. Roll into 1-inch meatballs. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs in batches. No need to cook through.

3. Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook egg noodles until al dente, then drain.

4. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and sour cream. Add salt and pepper to taste.

5. In a greased baking dish, combine noodles, browned meatballs, and sauce. Stir gently to combine.

6. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.

7. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Don’t overmix your meat mixture—this keeps the meatballs tender.

Use low-sodium beef broth to control salt levels, especially if your soup is salted.

For extra depth, sauté fresh mushrooms and add to the sauce before baking.
