Description

This Surf & Turf Noodle Stir-Fry with Steak and Shrimp is the ultimate one-skillet wonder. Juicy steak and tender shrimp are tossed with stir-fried vegetables and chewy noodles, all coated in a savory-sweet umami sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s a bold, satisfying dinner for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale

8 oz lo mein noodles, cooked and rinsed

8 oz steak (sirloin or ribeye), sliced into bite-sized pieces

8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cup baby spinach or bok choy

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 tablespoons sesame oil (divided)

2 green onions, chopped

2 tablespoons cooking oil (for stir-frying)

2 tablespoons water (optional, for loosening sauce)

Instructions

1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Rinse with cold water and set aside.

2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over high heat. Add steak and sear 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same pan, cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

4. Add remaining oil to the pan. Stir-fry bell peppers, garlic, and ginger for 2–3 minutes until fragrant. Add spinach or bok choy and stir until wilted.

5. Return steak and shrimp to the skillet. Add noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and a splash of water if needed. Toss to combine and heat through.

6. Finish with sesame oil and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use a hot pan to quickly sear steak and shrimp without overcooking.

Rinsing noodles after cooking keeps them from clumping and getting soggy.

Want spice? Add red pepper flakes or sriracha with the garlic and ginger.
