1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 cup heavy whipping cream

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 package vanilla pudding mix

2 cups cold milk

1 cup whipped topping

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for garnish)

6 whole fresh strawberries (for topping)


Instructions

1. Bake the vanilla cake according to package or recipe instructions, then allow it to cool completely.

2. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar, then let them sit until they release juices.

3. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

4. Prepare the vanilla pudding using cold milk and let it thicken.

5. Fold the pudding into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.

6. Place one cake layer in a dish, spread half of the cream mixture, then add half of the strawberries with juices.

7. Add the second cake layer and repeat with remaining cream mixture and strawberries.

8. Spread whipped topping over the top and garnish with whole strawberries and powdered sugar.

9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.


Notes

Use fully cooled cake to prevent melting the cream layers.

Chill the dessert before serving for cleaner slices and better texture.

For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice to the strawberries.
