Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

1 egg (for egg wash)

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream or whipped topping

2 tablespoons powdered sugar (if whipping your own cream)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Fresh strawberries, halved

Chocolate syrup or melted chocolate for drizzling

Optional: Sugar for sprinkling on pastry edges

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out puff pastry slightly and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  3. Cut smaller hearts inside half of the hearts to make borders.
  4. Place full hearts on the sheet, brush with egg wash, and layer with the heart borders.
  5. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and puffed. Let cool completely.
  7. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  8. Fill cooled pastries with whipped cream, top with halved strawberries, and drizzle with chocolate.
