Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
1 egg (for egg wash)
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream or whipped topping
2 tablespoons powdered sugar (if whipping your own cream)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fresh strawberries, halved
Chocolate syrup or melted chocolate for drizzling
Optional: Sugar for sprinkling on pastry edges
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out puff pastry slightly and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Cut smaller hearts inside half of the hearts to make borders.
- Place full hearts on the sheet, brush with egg wash, and layer with the heart borders.
- Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and puffed. Let cool completely.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
