Description

These Strawberry Cream Cheese Heart Danishes are the ultimate sweet treat—perfect for Valentine’s Day breakfast, a spring brunch, or whenever you’re craving something cozy and cute. With flaky puff pastry, creamy vanilla-kissed filling, and juicy strawberries, this quick breakfast pastry doubles as an impressive dessert. It’s one of those easy recipes that looks bakery-level but takes minimal effort. Save it as one of your go-to breakfast ideas or fun food ideas for a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 strawberries, sliced

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Use a heart-shaped cutter (or a knife) to cut out hearts. Place on baking sheet.

3. Lightly score a smaller heart inside each cut-out without cutting through. Use a fork to dock the center.

4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

5. Spoon or pipe the cream cheese mixture into the center of each heart.

6. Add a few strawberry slices on top of the filling and gently press them down.

7. Brush the outer edges of the pastry with beaten egg.

8. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

9. Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

10. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use cold but thawed puff pastry to ensure clean cuts and puffy layers.

Make sure strawberries are dry—too much moisture can make the pastry soggy.

Add a drizzle of melted chocolate or honey for an extra sweet finish.
