3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm milk
2 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp butter, melted
1 large egg
1 tsp salt
2 medium onions, thinly sliced

Instructions
- Warm milk and mix with sugar and yeast; let sit until foamy.
- In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter. Mix into a dough.
- Knead dough on floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
- While rising, caramelize onions in butter over medium heat, about 20 minutes. Cool.
- Punch down dough, roll out, spread onions and cheese, roll or twist, place in pan.
- Let rise 30–40 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sprinkle extra cheese on top; bake 30–35 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly before slicing; serve warm.
