Ingredients
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
2 packets chicken gravy mix
1 ½ cups water or chicken broth
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
Mashed potatoes (for serving)
Chopped chives or parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
2. In a bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, gravy mix packets, water or broth, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours until chicken is tender.
5. Shred chicken with two forks and stir into the gravy.
6. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles. Garnish with chives or parsley if desired.
Notes
For thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir in during the last 30 minutes.
You can prep this recipe the night before—just store the ingredients in the slow cooker insert in the fridge and start cooking the next day.
For added richness, use chicken broth instead of water.
