Silk Chocolate Happiness is a dreamy layered dessert made with a rich fudgy brownie base, a cloud-like chocolate mousse, and a fluffy whipped cream topping. Finished with elegant dark chocolate shavings, it’s a showstopper treat that’s surprisingly simple to make.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup powdered sugar
4 ounces cream cheese (optional)
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup dark chocolate shavings
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in sugar, then remove from heat.
3. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth. Sift in cocoa, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined.
4. Spread batter in pan. Bake for 18–20 minutes. Cool completely.
5. Melt chocolate chips and let cool. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar to soft peaks.
6. (Optional) Beat cream cheese until smooth and mix into melted chocolate.
7. Fold whipped cream into chocolate until smooth. Spread over brownie base. Chill 1 hour.
8. Whip topping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla to stiff peaks.
9. Spread whipped cream over mousse layer. Chill 30 minutes.
10. Top with dark chocolate shavings. Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
For clean slices, use a sharp knife dipped in hot water and wiped dry between cuts.
You can make the brownie layer a day ahead and refrigerate before adding the mousse.
Skip the cream cheese in the mousse if you prefer a lighter texture.
