Description

These Mummy Hot Dogs are an adorable and spooky twist on classic pigs in a blanket—perfect for Halloween parties or fun family dinners. Wrapped in buttery crescent dough and finished with googly candy eyes, they’re a hit with both kids and adults!

Ingredients

Scale

8 hot dogs

1 sheet refrigerated crescent roll dough

16 candy eyes

4 slices American cheese (optional)

For serving: ketchup or mustard

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Unroll crescent dough and pinch seams to form a solid sheet. Cut into thin ¼-inch strips using a knife or pizza cutter.

3. Place half a slice of cheese under each hot dog, if using. Wrap dough strips around each hot dog to create a mummy effect, leaving a small gap at the top for eyes.

4. Place wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.

5. Let cool for a few minutes, then press candy eyes into the exposed area. Use a dab of ketchup or mustard to help them stick, if needed.

6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces!

Notes

Chill the wrapped hot dogs in the fridge for 10 minutes before baking to help the dough hold its shape better.

Use plant-based hot dogs and dough to make this recipe vegetarian or vegan.

Candy eyes should be added after baking to prevent melting.
