Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground pork sausage

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 large eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper

1/2 cup all-purpose baking mix (like Bisquick)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate with butter or nonstick spray.

2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground pork sausage until fully browned and crumbled. Drain excess grease.

3. Spread the cooked sausage evenly in the greased pie plate. Sprinkle chopped red bell pepper over the sausage, then top with shredded cheddar cheese.

4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, baking mix, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese in the pie plate.

6. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Let the pie cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can prepare this pie the night before, refrigerate it, and bake fresh in the morning.

To make it spicy, use hot sausage and add a pinch of cayenne to the egg mix.

Letting the pie cool before slicing helps achieve clean, stable slices.
