Description
This Honey Mustard Chicken is a quick and flavorful dinner made with juicy chicken breasts seared to golden perfection and simmered in a sweet and tangy homemade honey mustard sauce. Perfect with rice, mashed potatoes, or veggies—comfort food made simple!
Ingredients
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Sear chicken on both sides until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Reduce heat to medium. Add a little more oil if needed, then sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
4. Stir in honey, Dijon mustard, and chicken broth. Whisk to combine and bring to a simmer.
5. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over top, cover, and simmer 8–10 minutes or until chicken is cooked through (internal temperature 165°F).
6. Uncover and let sauce reduce slightly to thicken, if desired.
7. Garnish with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes if using. Serve hot.
Notes
Don’t skip the searing step—it locks in flavor and adds color to the chicken.
You can substitute chicken thighs for a juicier cut. Just cook slightly longer.
For a thicker sauce, let it simmer uncovered for a few extra minutes before serving.
