Ingredients
4 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg (optional)
1 pinch salt
Instructions
1. Peel, core, and slice the apples into ¼-inch wedges for even cooking.
2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat until foamy and slightly golden.
3. Add the sliced apples to the skillet and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
4. Sprinkle brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt over the apples. Stir to coat.
5. Cook an additional 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and glazed.
6. Serve warm. Enjoy them on pancakes, with pork, or over vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For extra depth of flavor, use half butter and half coconut oil.
Let the apples sit undisturbed for a minute before stirring to encourage caramelization.
Add raisins or chopped pecans during the last 2 minutes of cooking for texture.
