Description
The Fluffiest Popovers Ever are golden, crisp on the outside, and perfectly airy on the inside. They’re made with just five simple ingredients and come together with a quick batter and a very hot oven. A perfect pairing for sweet or savory meals!
Ingredients
3 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a popover pan or muffin tin inside to heat up.
2. In a blender or bowl, combine the eggs and milk. Blend until frothy.
3. Add flour and salt to the mix, blend again until smooth.
4. Pour in melted butter and mix once more. Let the batter rest at room temperature.
5. Carefully remove the hot pan from the oven and generously grease each cup.
6. Fill each cup about halfway with the batter.
7. Bake for 15 minutes at 450°F, then reduce the oven to 350°F (177°C) and bake an additional 15–20 minutes.
8. Do not open the oven door while baking.
9. When golden and puffed, remove from oven and poke a small hole in each popover to release steam.
10. Serve immediately with butter, jam, or your favorite spread.
Notes
For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before blending.
Do not open the oven during baking or your popovers may deflate.
A popover pan gives the highest rise, but a muffin tin works great when preheated properly.
