Ingredients
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
3/4 cup milk (whole milk or plant-based)
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring continuously until golden brown and aromatic (about 3–4 minutes). Remove from heat.
2. Stir maple syrup into the browned butter. Set aside.
3. Brew 2 shots of espresso or make 1/2 cup of strong coffee.
4. Steam or heat the milk until warm and frothy. Whisk or shake in a jar if you don’t have a frother.
5. In a mug, combine espresso and brown butter maple mixture. Stir well.
6. Pour in the steamed milk and top with foam. Sprinkle cinnamon if using.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Use dark-grade pure maple syrup for the richest flavor.
Don’t walk away while browning butter—it goes from perfect to burnt quickly!
Froth milk just before serving to keep the foam airy and fresh.
