Description
Creamy Parmesan Garlic Butter Rice is an easy, flavor-packed side dish that’s ready in under 30 minutes. With the rich combination of garlic, butter, cream, and Parmesan, this recipe turns simple white rice into a luxurious, savory comfort food. It pairs perfectly with proteins or roasted vegetables, making it an essential addition to any dinner table.
Ingredients
1 cup jasmine or basmati rice
2 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
1⁄2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
3⁄4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1⁄4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
2. Stir in uncooked rice and toast for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
3. Pour in the broth and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 to 18 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
4. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan until fully combined and creamy.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with fresh parsley if using. Serve warm.
Notes
Toasting the rice before simmering gives it a subtle nutty flavor and helps prevent sogginess.
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest melt and best flavor.
For added protein, serve with grilled chicken, shrimp, or roasted chickpeas.
