Ingredients

Scale

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

½ teaspoon cotton candy flavoring (optional)

Pink and blue food coloring

Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and cotton candy flavoring (if using) and mix well. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until combined.
  2. Add the Colors: Divide the dough evenly into two bowls. Add pink food coloring to one and blue food coloring to the other. Stir until the colors are fully blended. Gently combine portions of each colored dough to create a marbled effect.
  3. Shape and Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are set.
  4. Dust and Cool: Let cookies cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack. While warm, dust them with powdered sugar for a frosty finish.
