Description
This Comforting Ground Beef Goulash is a one-pot wonder packed with hearty flavors and weeknight ease. Tender elbow macaroni is simmered with ground beef, onions, garlic, and a savory tomato-beef sauce. Perfect for cozy dinners, meal prep, or feeding a hungry crowd.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
3 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
2. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.
3. Stir in diced tomatoes (with juice), tomato sauce, and beef broth. Add Worcestershire sauce, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
4. Add elbow macaroni and stir well. Cover and cook over low to medium heat for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and has absorbed most of the liquid.
5. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a mix of ground beef and ground pork or sausage.
Add shredded cheddar cheese at the end for a cheesy twist.
To avoid mushy pasta, watch the simmer time and don’t overcook once pasta is al dente.
