2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Cinnamon Filling:
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Caramel Glaze:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 tbsp milk
Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, sour cream, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Mix wet ingredients into dry until just combined. Spread batter in the prepared pan.
- Make the filling: combine brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Mix in softened butter until it forms a paste.
- Drop filling by spoonfuls over the batter. Swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- For glaze: combine brown sugar, butter, milk, and salt in a saucepan. Simmer 2-3 minutes.
- Drizzle warm glaze over hot cake. Let sit a few minutes before slicing.
