Description

These copycat Church’s Honey Butter Biscuits are soft, buttery, and golden with a sweet honey glaze that melts in your mouth. Easy to make at home with pantry staples, they’re perfect as a side, a snack, or a sweet breakfast treat.


Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

3/4 cup cold buttermilk

2 tablespoons melted butter (for glaze)

2 tablespoons honey (for glaze)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

3. Add cold cubed butter to the flour and use a pastry cutter or fingers to mix until crumbly.

4. Pour in cold buttermilk and stir just until a shaggy dough forms. Do not overmix.

5. Turn dough onto a floured surface, gently pat into a rectangle, and fold once or twice to form layers.

6. Flatten to 1-inch thickness and cut biscuits using a round cutter without twisting.

7. Arrange biscuits on the baking sheet with edges barely touching.

8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until tops are golden brown.

9. While baking, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and stir in honey to make the glaze.

10. Brush warm biscuits with honey butter immediately after baking and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.


Notes

Always use cold butter and cold buttermilk for the flakiest layers.

Don’t twist the biscuit cutter—it seals the edges and reduces rise.

For extra shine and sweetness, brush biscuits twice with honey butter: once immediately and again after 5 minutes.
