Description
This festive Christmas Tree Cake Trifle is a no-bake holiday dessert layered with creamy vanilla pudding, whipped topping, cherries, and nostalgic Christmas Tree Cakes. It’s vibrant, simple to prepare, and perfect for any Christmas gathering.
Ingredients
1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes), sliced into bite-sized pieces
1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
2 cups cold milk
8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
1 jar maraschino cherries, drained
1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
Green and red sprinkles
Optional: 2 to 3 drops green food coloring
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk together vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken. Add green food coloring if desired.
2. Slice each Christmas Tree Cake into thirds or small cubes.
3. In a trifle dish, layer pudding on the bottom, followed by sliced cakes.
4. Add a layer of cherries and then a generous layer of whipped topping.
5. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish.
6. Finish with whipped topping, then garnish with crushed peppermint, sprinkles, and extra cherries.
7. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Chill the trifle for at least 1 hour to let flavors meld and the cakes soften slightly.
You can use homemade whipped cream, just make sure it’s stabilized for best results.
For a festive flair, alternate between plain and food-colored pudding layers.
