Description

1 box devil’s food or chocolate fudge cake mix

1 jar (about 1 cup) thick caramel sauce

1 cup evaporated milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced

1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Vanilla ice cream, for serving


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour half the caramel sauce into the bottom of the dish and spread evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the caramel layer. Do not stir.
  4. Drizzle the evaporated milk evenly over the cake mix.
  5. Dot the top with slices of butter and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  6. Drizzle remaining caramel sauce on top.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until bubbly and set.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream.
