1 box chocolate cake mix

1 cup caramel sauce (thick and buttery)

1/2 cup evaporated milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced thin

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Pour caramel sauce into the dish and swirl in evaporated milk.
  3. Evenly sprinkle chocolate cake mix over the caramel layer. Do not mix.
  4. Top with chocolate chips, then distribute butter slices over the surface.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is crisp and the edges are bubbling.
