Description
This Cheesy Basil and Garlic Pizza is a flavor-packed, crispy-crusted delight topped with gooey mozzarella, fragrant garlic-infused olive oil, and a finish of fresh basil. Simple ingredients, easy method, and big flavor—perfect for weeknights or entertaining.
Ingredients
1 12-inch pizza dough
8 ounces fresh mozzarella, torn or sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 handful fresh basil leaves
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using store-bought dough, let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
2. Roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch round and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.
3. In a small pan, heat olive oil and minced garlic over low heat for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.
4. Brush the garlic oil over the dough, including the edges.
5. Distribute the mozzarella evenly across the surface.
6. Sprinkle oregano and black pepper over the top.
7. Bake for 10–13 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling with brown spots.
8. Remove from oven and top immediately with fresh basil leaves. Serve hot.
Notes
Use a preheated pizza stone or steel for a crispier crust.
Let fresh mozzarella sit on a paper towel for 5 minutes to reduce excess moisture.
Add basil after baking to preserve its vibrant color and flavor.
