Ingredients
12 cubes cheddar cheese
12 cubes Monterey Jack cheese
12 slices salami
12 slices pepperoni
12 green olives
12 cheddar stars (cut using mini cookie cutter)
12 small skewers or toothpicks
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs or chopped parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. Cut cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses into ¾-inch cubes. Use a mini star cutter to make cheddar stars from block cheddar.
2. Fold each slice of salami and pepperoni into quarters.
3. Thread 1 cube of Monterey Jack onto each skewer as the base.
4. Layer a folded salami slice, followed by a green olive, then a pepperoni slice, repeating if desired.
5. Top the skewer with a cheddar star.
6. Arrange skewers on a platter and sprinkle with herbs or parsley if using.
7. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
For best appearance, add cheddar stars right before serving to prevent them from drying out.
You can prep all other components up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate.
Use firmer cheeses like Colby Jack or Mozzarella to avoid crumbling.
