1 salmon fillet (about 1.5 lbs, skin-on)
1 untreated cedar plank (soaked for at least 1 hour)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Fresh dill and parsley for garnish
Optional: lemon wedges or herb sauce for serving
Instructions
- Soak the cedar plank in water for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat grill (or oven) to 375°F.
- Pat the salmon dry and rub with olive oil.
- Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle evenly over salmon.
- Place the soaked plank on the grill for 3-5 minutes to warm. Flip it, then place salmon skin-side down.
- Grill for 12-15 minutes with lid closed, or bake in the oven on a baking sheet.
- Remove when salmon flakes easily with a fork.
