Description

Golden puff pastry wrapped around savory sausage links and finished with a sweet icing drizzle—these Breakfast Pigs In A Blanket are a cozy, crowd-pleasing treat. Perfect for brunch boards, holiday mornings, or a fun twist on weekday breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed but still cold

8 fully-cooked breakfast sausage links

1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water (egg wash)

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 to 2 tablespoons milk or cream (for icing)

Optional: warm maple syrup, for dipping

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 8 strips or rectangles.

3. Place one sausage link at the end of each strip and roll it up, placing seam-side down on the baking sheet.

4. Brush the tops with the egg wash.

5. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until golden and puffed.

6. While slightly cooling, mix powdered sugar with milk to form the glaze.

7. Drizzle icing over each piece. Serve warm with optional maple syrup.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold until ready to use to ensure the best flakiness.

Use fully-cooked sausage to save time and guarantee even baking.

Add cinnamon or maple extract to the icing for a flavorful twist.
