Description
This Better Than Anything Toffee delivers a golden caramel crunch layered with melted semi-sweet chocolate and toasted pecans. A no-fuss candy recipe perfect for holidays or everyday indulgence!
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar and cook, stirring constantly, for 8–10 minutes until golden brown and pulling away from the sides.
3. Quickly pour the toffee onto the prepared sheet. Spread evenly to about 1/4-inch thickness.
4. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let sit 2–3 minutes, then spread evenly once melted.
5. Top with chopped pecans or walnuts and flaky sea salt if desired. Let cool completely.
6. Once set, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
Notes
Stir continuously to avoid burning or separating the sugar and butter.
Work quickly when pouring the toffee; it begins setting immediately.
Make sure to add chocolate chips while the toffee is still hot so they melt properly.
