Made with sourdough or brioche and a blend of sharp cheddar and mozzarella, this sandwich is elevated with buttery crust and optional herbs. Ingredients

2 slices sourdough or brioche bread

2 tablespoons salted butter

½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon fresh thyme or chives (optional)

2 slices tomato (optional)

2 tablespoons caramelized onions (optional)

2 slices cooked bacon (optional)


Instructions

1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.

2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.

3. Place one slice of bread butter-side down in the skillet.

4. Add cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top.

5. Add any optional fillings like tomato, onions, or bacon between the cheese layers.

6. Top with the second bread slice, butter side up.
