Description

These Air Fryer Banana Chips are a light, crispy snack made with just a few ingredients. Skip the deep fryer and make your own sweet or savory chips at home with minimal oil. Perfect for lunchboxes, healthy snacking, or topping off smoothie bowls.

Ingredients

Scale

2 green bananas or plantains

1 teaspoon olive oil or coconut oil

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon optional spices (like garlic powder, smoked paprika, or cinnamon)

Instructions

1. Peel the green bananas or plantains and slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.

2. Place the slices in a bowl and drizzle with oil. Add salt and any desired seasonings. Toss gently to coat evenly.

3. Arrange the slices in a single layer in your air fryer basket without overlapping.

4. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crisp.

5. Transfer to a wire rack or plate to cool. Chips will continue to crisp up as they cool.

6. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.

Notes

Use green or barely yellow bananas or plantains—ripe bananas will not crisp properly.

Keep slices thin and consistent for even crisping.

Let chips cool fully before storing to lock in crunch.
